"early start" begins now. the pentagon says the fbi uncovered between 20 and 30,000 pages of potentially between allen and jill kelly. the woman who triggered the petraeus probe after getting threatening e-mails from his mistress, paula broadwell. >> get this. "the wall street journal" reports the fbi agent who launched the petraeus investigation was removed from the case after it was discovered he sent a shirtless picture of himself to jill kelly. the agent who knew kelly sent the pictures before the investigation began. he was later removed from the investigation because supervisors were concerned the agent may have become obsessed with the case. >> and there's more. a team of fbi agents searching paula broadwell's home yesterday. eight to ten agents brought cardboard boxes and searched both levels of the house. the fbi confirmed agents were there but wouldn't say what they were looking for. >> obviously, a lot go

, you need a pen. catherine herridge is live in d.c.. tell us where we are today on the investigation. where is it. >> reporter: thank you, bill and good morning. so far virtually every publicly threat in the case leads back to jill kelly, a woman described as this unpaid social liaison for the military in tampa, florida. this morning it is alleged the commander of international forces in afghanistan, or isaf, general john allen, sent between 20 and 30,000 pages to kelly. e-mail traffic described as potentially inappropriate nature. it was jill kelly who alert ad fbi agent what she believed were harassing e-mails from the paula broadwell, the biographer and mistress of general david petraeus. it was investigation of kelly's complaints that ultimately forced resignation of general petraeus last week. spokesman george little gave a brief statement on general allen's status. >> while this matter is under investigation and before the facts are determined, general allen will remain commander of isaf. general allen is entitled to due process in this matter. >> reporter: as this story litera
